The River City Blue Star Moms are moms of military and veteran children who are and have served the United States of America. We are built with military families and friends and neighbors of those who want to support our troops. We are a non-political, non-sectarian, non-racial and non-profit organization with a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt status.
The Blue Star Moms started in 1942 with an article in the paper asking moms if they wanted to support our country. Sixty nine years later we are still strong in supporting our country, military, their families, our fallen hero's and veterans. Visiting our veterans in hospitals and supporting our Standdown for the homeless veterans.
The River City Blue Star moms are only year old and working strong in our area. We welcome all military families and those who wish to support our troops. Come and join us anytime...
We support our troops with care packages, our first packing party for the 2012 year is February 18th at the VFW Post 67 on Stockton Blvd, cards and letters are in need. If you have a school or a church that would like to write letters and cards to place in our care packages to our troops contact us. We work with military units at unit events. We have packed over 200 care bags for the homeless here in Sacramento this year. We work with Mather VA Hospital by donating items to our veterans, ie, veteran new mothers, the homeless. We attend parades, events, support our Gold Star Families and so much more. We educate our moms and families on PTSD, TBI, counseling, resources for families who need support for themselves and their service member.
We are military families who love our country, our children, our troops and our veterans.
We welcome all branches of service - Air Force, Army, Coast Guards, Marines, and Navy.
Our Mission Statement:
The purposes of the corporation shall be: To perpetuate the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., and the memory of all the men and women who have served our country as members of the Armed Forces; the further object of this organization shall be patriotic, educational, social, and for service; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States; to educate our members and others not to divulge military, naval, or other Government information; to assist in veterans' ceremonies, to attend patriotic rallies and meetings; to foster true democracy; to care for the unsupported mothers who gave their sons to the service of the Nation; to aid in bringing about recognition of the need of permanent civilian defense for each community and to ever be alert against invasion of un-American activities; to uphold the American institutions of freedom, justice, and equal rights, and to defend the United States from all enemies.
